Taxonomy
Distagnostus ergodes was named by Shergold (1971). Its type specimen is CPC 9667, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gola Beds B752, which is in a Franconian/Trempealeauan marine grainstone/lime mudstone in Australia.
It was recombined as Trilobagnostus ergodes by Lu and Lin (1989) and Lu and Lin (1989); it was recombined as Lotagnostus (Distagnostus) ergodes by Shergold et al. (1990).
