Taxonomy
Asterias jurensis was named by Goldfuss (1833). It is not extant. Its type specimen is not located.

It was recombined as Astrogonium jurense by Fritel (1902); it was considered a nomen dubium by Hess (1955); it was recombined as Tylasteria jurensis by Spencer and Wright (1966), Breton (1992) and Gale (2011).
