Pecten multisquamatus was named by Dunker (1864) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; tropical western Atlantic]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Chlamys multisquamata by Waller (1973); it was recombined as Laevichlamys multisquamata by Waller (1993).

Synonyms
  • Pecten effluens was named by Dall (1886) [TYPE LOCALITY: Recent; off Havana.]. It is extant.

    It was recombined as Chlamys effluens by Verrill (1897); it was synonymized subjectively with Laevichlamys multisquamata by Waller (1993).
