Palaeothentes smeti
Taxonomy
Palaeothentes smeti was named by Flynn et al. (2002). Its type specimen is SGO PV 2304, a maxilla (maxillary fragment bearing P2-M3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Pampa Castillo, which is in a Burdigalian fluvial sandstone/siltstone in the Galera Formation of Chile.
