Reigechimys octodontiformis
Taxonomy
Reigechimys octodontiformis was named by Verzi et al. (1994). Its type specimen is MLP 65-VII-29-107, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Salinas Grandes de Hidalgo, which is in a Huayquerian fluvial siltstone in the Epecuén Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Reigechimys.

Mesoflexid trans- formed into mesofossettid in m1 and replaced by mesofosset- tid in m2 during early ontogenetic stages. Mesofossettid of m1 absent when metaflexid begins to close. |
