Afrotarsius chatrathi

Taxonomy
Afrotarsius chatrathi was named by Simons and Bown (1985). Its type specimen is CGM 42830, a mandible (fragment of right mandibular ramus with M1-3, lower parts of crowns of P3 and P4), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Quarry M (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Afrotarsius.
