Taxonomy

Thraciidae was named by Stoliczka (1870) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5064]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Anatinacea by Glenn (1904); to Pandoracea by Newell (1965), Vokes (1980) and Ward and Blackwelder (1987); to Anomalodesmata by Bieler and Mikkelsen (2006); to Thracioidea by Coan et al. (2000), Nevesskaja (2009), Bouchet et al. (2010) and Carter et al. (2011); and to Pandoroidea by Hickman (2014) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).

Synonyms

Osteodematidae was named by Deshayes (1830). It is extant.

It was replaced with Thraciidae by Bieler and Mikkelsen (2006).
Osteodesmatidae was named by Couthouy (1839). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Thraciidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
