Anadara quilonensis was named by Dey (1961) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; India.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Quilon Limestone (Quilon, Kerala), which is in a Miocene carbonate limestone in the Quilon Limestone Formation of India.
