Dakosaurus andiniensis
Taxonomy
Dakosaurus andiniensis was named by Vignaud and Gasparini (1996). Its type specimen is MHNSR PV344, a partial skull (fragment of rostrum composed by parts of the maxilla, nasal, and premaxilla, lacking tooth crowns), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Catan Lil, which is in a Tithonian offshore shale/marl in the Vaca Muerta Formation of Argentina.
