Ancillaria rembangensis was named by Martin (1906) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Indo-Pacific.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ancilla rembangensis by Dey (1961); it was recombined as Ancilla (Sparella) rembangensis by Skwarko (1994).
