Concornis was named by Sanz and Buscalioni (1992). Its type is Concornis lacustris.

(2005); to Avisauridae by Cau and Arduini (2008); to Pygostylia by Lefevre et al. (2014); and to Enantiornithes by Kurochkin et al. (2013), O'Connor and Zelenkov (2013), Zhang et al.
