Taxonomy
Cardita plata was named by Ihering (1907) [DISTRIBUTION: Holocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Carditamera (Carditamera) plata by da Silva Forti (1969); it was recombined as Carditamera plata by Clavijo et al. (2005) and Rosenberg (2005).
