Pradesuridae was named by Spencer (1951). It is not extant. Its type is Pradesura.

It was assigned to Eophiuricae by Spencer (1951), Lehmann (1957) and Owen (1965); and to Proturina by Spencer and Wright (1966), Boczarowski (2001) and Blake (2013).
