Scala georgettina was named by Kiener (1838) [DISTRIBUTION: Holocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Epitonium georgettina by Barattini and Ureta (1960); it was recombined as Epitonium (Epitonium) georgettina by da Silva Forti (1969); it was recombined as Epitonium georgettinum by Rosenberg (2005).
