Turritella circumdata was named by Deshayes (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleogene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Turritella (Haustator) circumdata by Cossmann and Pissarro (1910) and Cossmann and Pissarro (1910); it was recombined as Haustator circumdatus by Le Renard (1986) and Jeffery and Tracey (1997).
