Turritella funiculosa was named by Deshayes (1832) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleogene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Turritella (Haustator) funiculosa by Cossmann and Pissarro (1910); it was recombined as Haustator funiculosus by Le Renard (1986).
