D. B. Blake 1995 | A Palaeozoic asteroid with a small disc and lon slender arms. A primary ossicular ring of large ossicles is present on the dorsal surface of the disc. Other dorsal ossicles are large and arranged in few regular rows, the rows lacking intercalated small ossicles. Podial basins are quadriseriate but podial passageways to the arm interior is absent; ambulacrals are somewhat compressed, and they are paired with (not offset from) the adambulacrals. Synapomorphic characters include the presence of superomarginals that are robust, elongate and sinuous, with disc superomarginals and perhaps interbrachials extending from the dorsal at least nearly to the ventral surface. Inferomarginals are robust, transversely elongate, and triangular. The radial column begins with two enlarged ossicles; the remainder of the series is bisserial and offset. | |
