Tellina (Arcopagia) elegantissima was named by Smith (1885) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Pseudarcopagia elegantissima by Hashimoto (1982); it was recombined as Clathrotellina elegantissima by Rosenberg et al. (2006).
