Taxonomy

Thracia was named by Blainville (1824) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett R]. It is extant. Its type is Mya pubescens.

It was assigned to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Thraciidae by Glenn (1904), Durham (1944), Faustman (1964), Marasti (1973), Moore (1976), Vokes (1980), Ward and Blackwelder (1987), Freneix et al. (1988), Wienrich (1999), Schneider et al. (2005), Bouchet et al. (2010), Hickman (2014) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
