Napulus was named by Stephenson (1941) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 123,909]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Turbinellidae by Stephenson (1941); to Vasinae by Sohl (1964) and Sohl (1964); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
