Taxonomy
Peristernia lintea was named by Tate (1888) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Southern Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Peristernia.

It was recombined as Streptopelma lintea by Darragh (1970).
