Miyagipecten matsumoriensis was named by Masuda (1952) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene-Late Miocene; Japan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Chlamys (Miyagipecten) matsumoriensis by Masuda and Noda (1976).
