Taxonomy
Cardita mandaica was named by Yokoyama (1911) [DISTRIBUTION: Upper Eocene; Japan.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia mandaica by Nagao (1928) and Hatai and Nisiyama (1952); it was recombined as Venericardia (Venericardia) mandaica by Ogasawara (2001).
