Yoldia yamagatana was named by Nomura and Zinbo (1937) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Japan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Yoldia (Cnesterium) yamagatana by Hatai and Nisiyama (1952).
