Taxonomy
Cardium (Trachycardium) dominicense was named by Gabb (1873). Its type specimen is ANSP 2764, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Trachycardium (Trachycardium) dominicense by Olsson (1964); it was recombined as Trachycardium (Dallocardia) dominicense by Woodring (1982), Vokes (1982) and Vokes (1989).
