Taxonomy
Cardium (Trachycardium) dominicanum was named by Dall (1900) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; circum-Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cardium dominicanum by Olsson (1922); it was recombined as Trachycardium (Mexicardia) dominicanum by Woodring (1982) and Vokes (1989).
