Taxonomy
Corbula vieta was named by Guppy (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; circum-Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Corbula (Aloidis) vieta by Maury (1917); it was recombined as Corbula (Varicorbula) vieta by Anderson (1994); it was recombined as Varicorbula vieta by Woodring (1982) and Hendy et al. (2008).
