Fusus transenna was named by Tenison-Woods (1876) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Southern Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Peristernia transenna by Tate (1888); it was recombined as Microcolus transenna by Darragh (1970).
