Taxonomy
Venus allporti was named by Tenison Woods (1876) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Southeastern Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Chione allporti by Tate (1887); it was recombined as Callanaitis allporti by Darragh (1970).
