Chama sulcata was named by Solander (1766) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cardita sulcata by Garnder (1888); it was recombined as Venericardia sulcata by Cossmann and Pissarro (1906); it was recombined as Cyclocardia (Arcturellina) sulcata by Le Renard (1993).
