Tellina hantoniensis was named by Edwards (1847) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tellina (Moerella) hantoniensis by Cossmann and Pissarro (1904); it was recombined as Arcopagia (Bertinella) hantoniensis by Le Renard (1986).
