Tellina craticula was named by Sowerby (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Macaliopsis craticula by Bonne et al. (1991); it was recombined as Arcopagia craticula by Tracey et al. (1995); it was recombined as Tellina (Macaliopsis) craticula by Le Renard (1986) and Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
