Lucina gibbosula was named by Lamarck (1806) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Miltha gibbosula by Morellet and Morellet (1945); it was recombined as Gibbolucina gibbosula by Glibert and van de Poel (1967) and Bone et al (1991); it was recombined as Gibbolucina (Gibbolucina) gibbosula by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
