Drakonycteris glibzegdouensis

Taxonomy
Drakonycteris glibzegdouensis was named by Ravel et al. (2016). Its type specimen is UM/HGL50-415, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gour Lazib HGL50, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian terrestrial sandstone in the Glib Zegdou Formation of Algeria. It is the type species of Drakonycteris.

Ravel et al. 2016Chiroptère possédant une morphologie dentaire robuste avec cuspides puissants, crêtes acérées ; une P3 massive et triangulaire munie d’un paracône très fort mais dépourvu de bassin ; ectolophe de la M1 et de la M2 avec crêtes latérales sub- parallèles et à fort développement transversal, présence de deux mésostyles jumelés et accolés sur M1, cingulum buccal épais et continu, parastyle très réduit, talon développé dans le sens distolingual et ceinturé par un cingulum lingual discontinu ; molaires inférieures pourvues d’un trigonide très étroit et d’un talonide très allongé.
