Taxonomy
Pecten (Aequipecten) suwaneensis was named by Dall (1898) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Florida.]. Its type specimen is USNM 115777, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Aequipecten suwaneensis by Palmer and Brann (1965).
