Amusium (Propeamussium) alabamense

Taxonomy

Pecten (Pleuronectia) alabamensis was named by Aldrich (1886) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 638806, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pecten (Amusium) alabamensis by de Gregario (1890); it was recombined as Pecten alabamensis by Aldrich (1921); it was recombined as Amusium (Propeamussium) alabamense by Palmer and Brann (1965).
