Chlamys cookei

Taxonomy
Pecten cookei was named by Kellum (1926) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Eocene; North Carolina.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS 10622 (B.D. Johnson Farm), Castle Hayne marl, Duplin County, North Carolina, which is in an Eocene marine marl in the Castle Hayne Formation of North Carolina.

It was recombined as Chlamys cookei by Palmer and Brann (1965).
