Corbula willistoni was named by Meyer (1885) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6650; DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Caryocorbula willistoni by Palmer and Brann (1965).
