Corbula (Caryocorbula) engonatoides was named by Gardner (1927) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Caryocorbula engonatoides by Palmer and Brann (1965).
