Taxonomy
Nucula sphenopsis was named by Conrad (1865) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6765]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nucula (Nucula) spheniopsis by Palmer and Brann (1965); it was recombined as Nucula (Nucula) sphenopsis by Woodring (1973); it was corrected as Nucula spheniopsis by Kosnik (2002).
