Taxonomy

Venericardia potapacoensis was named by Clark and Martin (1901) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Atlantic Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Venericor) potapacoensis by Gardner and Bowles (1939) and Palmer and Brann (1965).
