Phacoides sharmani was named by Wilckens (1911) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Seymour Island, Antarctica.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Saxolucina sharmani by Zinsmeister (1984) and Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992).
