Cynocephalus

Taxonomy
Cynocephalus was named by Boddaert (1768) [also but incorrectly attributed to Brisson 1756; non Cynocephalus Cuvier and Geoffroy 1795 (synonym of Papio)]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Galeopithecus by Van Valen (1967).

It was assigned to Quadrumana by Illiger (1811); to Cynocephalina by Gray (1825); to Cynocephalidae by Marivaux et al. (2006); and to Sundatheria by Silcox et al. (2010).
