Taxonomy
Trochita diegoana was named by Conrad (1857) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Pacific Coast, North America.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Calyptraea diegoana by Turner (1938), Addicott (1973), Squires (1984), Squires (1987), Squires (1988) and Oleinik and Marincovich (2003).
