Crenomytilus expansus

Taxonomy
Mytilus mathewsoni expansus was named by Arnold (1907) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Pacific Coast, North America.]. Its type specimen is USNM 164968, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mytilus mathewsonii expansus by Arnold (1907); it was recombined as Mytilus expansus by Loel and Corey (1932); it was recombined as Crenomytilus expansus by Addicott (1973) and Schoellhamer et al. (1981); it was recombined as Mytilus (Crenomytilus) expansus by Moore (1983).
