Taxonomy
Tellina tenuilineata was named by Clark (1918) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Pacific Coast, North America.]. Its type specimen is UCMP 11130, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 1131, Walnut Creek, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in California.
It was recombined as Tellina (Tellinella) tenuilineata by Addicott (1973), Coan et al. (2000) and Moore (2003).
