Taxonomy
Panope ramonensis was named by Clark (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Pacific Coast, North America.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Panopea (Panopea) ramonensis by Hickman (1969); it was recombined as Panopea ramonensis by Addicott (1973) and Moore (1976).
