Taxonomy
Cardium (Trachycardium) vaquerosensis was named by Arnold (1908) [DISTRIBUTION: Early-Middle Miocene; Pacific coast, North America.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cardium vaqueroense by Anderson (1911); it was recombined as Cardium vaqueroensis by Kellogg (1932); it was recombined as Trachycardium vaquerosense by Adegoke (1969); it was recombined as Trachycardium (Trachycardium) vaquerosensis by Moore (2002).
