Taxonomy
Ceratocephala triacantheis was named by Whittington and Evitt (1953). It is not extant. Its type specimen is USNM 116543. Its type locality is Loc. 1. Tumbling Run, 2 miles southwest of Strasburg, which is in a Blackriveran carbonate limestone in the Lincolnshire Limestone Formation of Virginia.
