Taxonomy
Pediomys krejcii was named by Clemens (1966). Its type specimen is UCMP 51390, a maxilla (left fragmentary maxilla with P3 and M1-3), and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Leptalestes krejcii by Davis (2007).
